Thomas Cook to Sponsor London 2012.

Jet Set might finally have some competition in the package travel market for the Olympics.  Thomas Cook has signed on to sponsor the 2012 Games and will provide a variety of short break travel packages to the games, including transportation, accommodation and event tickets.  According to London, this deal is an effort to ensure affordability and ease of travel for Olympics fans.

IOC Set to Break Sponsorship Record.

IOC marketing chief Gerhard Heiberg announced on Thursday that the IOC  is on course to break the $1 billion  dollar mark in  Olympic sponsorship revenue, and has already broken the previous record of $866 million.  With record sponsorship revenues, and another $400 million in IOC reserves, it is a wonder the Olympics cannot guarantee a pair of tickets for every athlete to give family friends.
