USOC Official Says Extra Olympics Tickets Will Be Available
(The following notice was posted late Sunday, 8.3.08, on BeijingTicketing.com, a forum that is part of Topix.com.)
I work for the U.S. Olympic Committee. We are currently engaged in dual lawsuits against those responsible for this fraud. I wanted to alert those who have been victims of this Olympic ticket scam that our official ticket distributor in the United States, JetSet/CoSport, has received an additional small allocation of tickets.
Unfortunately, there are no additional tickets to the Opening or Closing Ceremonies and tickets to high-demand events are still scarce. But we will post the link to their website, if possible a couple of hours prior to them announcing it publicly. Because JetSet/CoSport is authorized to sell tickets to U.S. residents, we can also e-mail the notice to those victims directly if we have your contact information.
For those in other countries, it is possible that the official ticket distributor in your country may receive a small amount of additional tickets, but I really do not know. We expect JetSet/CoSport to send us the web link soon, probably tomorrow morning. We are deeply sorry that so many people have fallen victim to such unscrupulous scam artists.
